The '6000' on the side of the cab is a red herring, this is clearly 6023 as the rear wheels have been cut, and 6000 was in steam at this time. |

This picture by Lionel A Smith shows 6023 nearing the end of its stay at Barry. All the cladding has been removed in order to dispose of the asbestos lagging that had begun to be revealed as the cladding sheets slipped over the 20 year stay here. |
